Production Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Production Coordinator will be an important part of the production planning team. The Production Coordinator is responsible to schedule production for the facility and provide occasional support to other PTT plant areas, ensuring that products are produced and delivered on-time. The Production Coordinator helps plan and schedule appropriate labor and materials resources for efficient and cost-effective production flow. Must be able to organize large amounts of data and be able to pull key information out of the data. A continuous improvement mindset will be important in finding the right candidate for this position.
Job Duties:
- Schedules production effectively by analyzing and using multiple data sources to develop strategic and tactical plans for workflow
- Strives to level load production schedules to ensure efficient and cost-effective production
- Recommends labor levels for efficient production and on-time delivery
- Reacts and reschedules production when needed to accommodate unexpected situations
- Monitors, analyzes and reports production performance for Operations
- Determines product delivery dates based on material availability and labor capacity
- Updates master production schedule (SmartSheets) to reflect correct completion dates
- Revises production schedules when required due to labor or material shortages
- Recommends labor and machine requirements to meet short- and long-term production schedules
- Releases work for production per schedule
- Ensures appropriate inventory for efficient production
- Monitors shipping risks and opportunities
- Identifies, recommends and takes corrective actions to solve production issues
- Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize workflow
- Minimum 1 to 3 years successful production planning experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, strongly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control
- Demonstrated analytical ability
- Lean manufacturing experience, a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with SmartSheets a plus.
- Flexibility in schedule
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to work in a highly energetic, constantly changing, data driven environment
