We are looking for an experienced Field Supervisor in the residential HVAC field who is technically proficient and passionate about mentoring and developing an expanding team of technicians. If you have 3 years of hands-on experience with HVAC systems and enjoy teaching others how to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential heating and cooling systems, this role is for you.
As a Field Supervisor, you will take on a leadership and mentoring role, guiding technicians through their daily tasks, overseeing job performance, and providing direct support on challenging or complex service calls. You will conduct ride-a-longs, offer real-time feedback, and help your team navigate customer interactions, ensuring the highest standards of service and professionalism.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Mentoring and Development: Provide direct oversight for a small team of technicians both in and out of the field. Offer constructive feedback to improve their technical skills regarding completed jobs and customer feedback and address any issues that need attention. Help technicians build confidence in their problem-solving abilities, expand their knowledge of system intricacies, and boost key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ride-Alongs and Shadowing: Accompany technicians on service and maintenance calls to provide hands-on assistance, answer questions, and offer troubleshooting guidance in real time. Use these opportunities to demonstrate best practices, safe work habits, and effective communication with homeowners.
- Time Management & Scheduling: Effectively manage time, personal workload, and team workload to ensure scheduled calls are completed in a timely manner, and the highest level of service is executed to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other management team members to address staffing needs, service issues, and customer complaints. Participate actively in team meetings and offer solutions to improve team efficiency and morale.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in residential HVAC service, including diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of residential HVAC systems (furnaces, ACs, heat pumps, ductless systems, etc.) and the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Leadership Ability: Ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians while ensuring high-quality work and customer satisfaction. Prior experience leading a team of 5 or more is preferred but not required.
- Customer-focused: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical issues clearly and professionally to homeowners.
- Problem Solving: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify HVAC issues and implement effective solutions.
- Licensing/Certifications: EPA certification preferred but not required.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in tight spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid Driver’s License: A clean driving record is required, with the ability to travel to customer locations.
