Job Summary:
The Therapy Assistant will work closely with our healthcare professionals to support the implementation of treatment plans for patients. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal skills. This role involves direct patient interaction, assisting with therapeutic exercises, preparing treatment areas, and ensuring that patients have a positive and effective experience during their therapy sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing treatment plans as directed, including setting up and assisting with therapeutic exercises and modalities.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment before and after sessions, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient use.
- Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions, reporting any concerns to the supervising physicians.
- Provide patient education on exercises, proper techniques, and post-treatment care as instructed by the therapist.
- Assist patients with mobility and ensure their safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
- Manage and organize therapy equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly maintained and sanitized.
- Offer administrative support, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling patient inquiries.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging environment for patients, promoting their confidence and motivation throughout their treatment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless and effective patient care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical assistance, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience as a therapy assistant or in a similar role in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize with patients.
- Basic knowledge of therapeutic exercises, modalities, and patient care practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- CPR and First Aid certification is an advantage.
- Physical stamina and the ability to assist patients with mobility.
