Pittsburgh Intermodal Terminal (PIT) is a large full-service intermodal facility featuring barge, rail, and truck off-load, re-load, and storage capabilities. We own and operate on 37-acres in Ambridge, Pennsylvania on the Ohio River (16 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, PA). We also provide important services for our customers including pile point welding and fabrication.
We’ve been in business for over 65 years and are experiencing even further growth as a major transload facility that is a product gateway to the entire Northeastern United States.
Job Description and Requirements
We are seeking individuals to function as part of a team involved in the unloading, storing, and reloading of steel beams, coils, and other steel products to and from barges, railroad cars, trucks and storage. Although previous experience with rigging, loading, and unloading of steel beams/products is desired, we are willing to train motivated applicants who wish to learn and be ultimately advanced into more specialized positions which may include specialized equipment operations and supervision. Additional responsibilities include gathering, measuring, cutting/burning, and restocking of steel beams/products.
You will need reliable transportation, to be able to work in rigorous outdoor elements year-round, the ability to lift up-to 80 pounds and to work independently or as part of a team and a “can-do” attitude.
