Pittsburgh Print House is growing! We are a contract decorator, located in Pittsburgh, PA 15204 and are expanding our print staff. We are looking to add experienced printers to our talented team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year minimum automatic screen printing experience preferred. Must have knowledge of color theory, press setup / multi-color registration & press operation for both manual & auto machines is preferred. Must be familiar with printing on all types of garment blends using both plastisol & water base inks. Table rigs and flat stock printing are a plus. Also proficiency in heat applied applications is ideal.
NATURE & SCOPE: Works under the direction of the Print Manager with some exercise of independent judgment. Core duties begin with supporting the head printers with press setup and end with press breakdown and repeat. Also, each screen printer is required to help when necessary with any prepress duties. This would include but not limited to burning screens, color matching inks, taping up and pin hole checking screens, receiving goods, staging orders by print priority, cleaning equipment and production area.
CHARACTERISTICS:
All production employees are expected to possess clear vision, correct color perception and hand-eye coordination. Attention to detail is crucial. Since screen printing is considered a skilled trade job, it is best suited for people who enjoy practical manual work. Other important traits include self-motivation, problem solving skills, creativity, organizational skills and knowledge of the screen printing equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Employees must also be willing to handle and mix the chemicals and inks used in screen printing as well as keeping focus in a hot production floor environment during the summer months.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review current production schedule (daily)
- Strategize setup / tear down (daily)
- Confirm all daily orders have approved press sheets (daily)
- Confirm all daily orders have complete product (daily)
- Help set up each print job
- Review press sheets for each job
- Tape up screens for press
- Verify print placements (press sheets or Supervisor)
- Verify and mix ink colors
- Bring staged product to press
- Print each order to approved spec
- Help tear down finished jobs
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
