POSITION TITLE
Cheerleading Coach
Job Description Summary
The Cheerleading Coach shall be responsible for helping students learn cheer and dance routines to perform at games, school pep rallies, and other activities. This person will organize and teach routines while instructing students on healthy stretch, lift and jumping techniques.

Essential Functions
- Work with students during practices and meets to instruct them regarding the rules, regulations and techniques of the sport.
- Secure building permits as needed for practices and other activities.
- Work with team of parents to coordinate meals for activities.
- Help to actively recruit students to the program.?.
- Disseminate & reinforce student expectations and norms and provides proper supervision of students at all times.
- Emphasize to students the importance of academics first and foremost.
- Update all participants on schedule changes?.
- Manage parent communication and volunteers.
- Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor in support of the department's or school's goals and objectives and the District's mission and Superintendent's Priority Goals.
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)

Years Of Experience
- Coaching experience in cheerleading at the middle school or junior high school level preferred.
- Frequently required to work at fast pace
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Requires considerable concentration and creativity
- Able to adjust daily work plans and work hours to be highly responsive to school needs
- Subject to stress caused by a changing environment, diversity in the organization, tight deadlines and work load, but must be able to maintain work/life balance amidst intense work demands.
- Enthusiastic about the fundamental goal of advancing student achievement in an urban public school district.
