What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coaches & Referees - Girls Flag Football (3rd Party - School District Hire) position at Pittsburgh Steelers?
The Pittsburgh Steelers are excited to launch a fourth Girls Flag Football Season (Spring 2025) and we are looking for coaches and officials to provide another great opportunity for WPIAL & City League high school girls in grades 9-12. Girls of all skill levels get to enjoy the thrill of flag football in a fun and inclusive environment. We are seeking passionate, dedicated, and skilled individuals to join and contribute to the success of this exciting program as we hope to make it a sanctioned high school sport as soon as possible.
Candidates will NOT work directly for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coaches will be interviewed and hired by individual school districts. Referees will be interviewed and hired by Pittsburgh Flag Football League.
Head Coach:
- Lead and coordinate team practices and game strategies
- Mentor and motivate players to enhance their skills and teamwork
- Develop a positive and inclusive team culture
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- School district coaching clearances required
Referee:
- Ensure a safe, fun, social and fair environment for all players
- Understand and fairly enforce flag football rules
- Communicate with the office regarding any equipment, rule issues, player issues, etc.
Requirements:
- Passion for sports and football, a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Previous coaching or managerial experience is a plus.
- Availability for weekday evenings and weekend games as well.
- All applicable Clearances required
