POSITION SUMMARY: This is an administrative and technical position relating to required inspections and enforcement of Township Zoning Codes and Ordinances not administered by the Police Department, Codes Department, or other designated Township officials. SALARY BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Serves as the Township Zoning Officer, Storm Water Management Officer, PA One Call Inspector and Enforcement Officer.
· Examines development plans for conformity to municipal codes, application requirements and use permits.
· Issues Zoning, Building, Use, Sign, and Storm Water Management permits.
· Performs initial, on-going, and final inspections of plans and property for conformity to Zoning and other ordinance requirements.
· Advises contractors and public on the proper processes and practices for compliance with Township ordinances.
· Consults with the Township Engineer and Planning Commission for complaints regarding violations of Township ordinances not administered by the Police or Codes Department or another official; discusses violations with owner or contractor, and issues notices for violations, when necessary.
· Prepares and presents testimony for court cases.
· Attends all regular meetings of the Zoning Hearing Board, Planning Commission, Storm Water Mangement and other meetings when directed to do so.
· Responsible for the proper posting of signs and notices in connection with planning and zoning.
· Reviews subdivision and land development plans for compliance with Township, State, and Federal regulations.
· Identify and register non-conforming uses and properties.
· Investigate complaints concerning zoning, property maintenance and other Township ordinances not administered by the Police Department or other Township official.
· Contact property owner and discuss violations and issue citations for violations, when necessary.
· Responsible for the administration of Flood Plain regulations.
· Maintains comprehensive records of applications for permits, permits issued, certificates issued, inspections made, reports rendered, and notices of orders and citations issued.
· Performs other such work as assigned or required.
· Ability to identify problems in the field and recommend solutions.
· Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
