Role Description
Pivot Charter School is seeking a passionate, full-time Middle School Science Teacher to join our team on-site in Riverview, FL. This role focuses on teaching 6th-8th Grade Science and Physical Science. A key part of this role involves preparing students for the Florida 8th Grade Science Assessment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, hands-on science lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking. Responsibilities include creating dynamic lesson plans, facilitating experiments, and assessing student understanding to support academic growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Science, or a related field
- Valid Florida Teaching Certification or Statement of Eligibility
- Strong background in STEM
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Authorized to work in the United States (Pivot Charter School does not provide visa sponsorship)
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug test as part of the hiring process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience preparing students for the Florida 8th Grade Science Assessment
- Prior middle school teaching experience
- Experience with hands-on science experiments and lab-based learning
