Job Overview

Pivot Charter School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Middle School Science Teacher to teach 6th-grade Science, 7th-grade Science, and 8th-grade Science, following the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards. Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons for 6th-grade Science, 7th-grade Science, and 8th-grade Science, ensuring alignment with the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards.
• Utilize small class sizes to implement differentiated instruction, address individual learning needs, and engage students in deeper discussions and hands-on experiments.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that promotes active participation, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
• Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain open and effective communication with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.
• Establish clear classroom expectations and routines to create a structured and respectful learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related STEM field.
• Valid Florida Teaching Certification (or eligibility for certification in middle school science).
• Prior experience teaching science or working with middle or high school students is preferred.
• Ability to plan, pace, and deliver lessons aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards using the provided curriculum.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• A collaborative mindset with a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in educational technology and a willingness to integrate innovative teaching strategies.
