We are a leading provider of innovative healthcare solutions, and we are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a PRN healthcare support specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing healthcare support at our onsite healthcare clinic, coordinating healthcare for employees, and overseeing the evaluation and case management of workplace injuries and compliance with medical surveillance programs.
Salary Information
The minimum hourly wage for this position is $42.00.
This salary information may be subject to change and does not include additional pay such as incentive, GAP, overtime, and stipends that may be available in certain circumstances. Individual base pay depends on various factors, including work location, job duties, and relevant experience and skills.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Treating acute occupational injuries
- Performing drug tests, hearing tests, pulmonary function tests, and fit tests
- Responding to medical emergencies
- Initiating and facilitating ongoing health and wellness screenings and wellness functions for employees
- Managing cases of workman's compensation claims in conjunction with the employer representative and insurance carrier
- Facilitating return-to-work and light-duty assignments for employees with work-related injuries
- Maintaining a current case log for workplace injuries outlining treatment plans for weekly case reviews
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA and DOT programs, such as hearing conservation, blood-borne pathogen training, random drug screening, and follow-up programs
- Maintaining healthcare unit inventory of medications and supplies
- Assisting the employer representative with the administration of the Non-Occupational Disability Program
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Valid state license
- 3 years of nursing experience
- 2 years of occupational health experience
- On-site occupational health experience (preferred)
- Certified to perform DOT urine drug and alcohol screens (preferred)
- Certification in Occupational Hearing Conservationist (preferred)
- Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid
- Ability to communicate with all levels across the organization effectively
- Strong administrative and management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
- Experienced in developing health and wellness programs and performing ergonomic assessment
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation case management and regulations
- Familiarity with manufacturing and production facility practices
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to generate reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and training courses
