Position Title : General Manager of Parking Operations
Location : Wilmington, NC
Position Overview :
The General Manager of Parking Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and
management of all parking facilities and programs within Park Wilmington. This role requires a
strategic leader who can balance operational efficiency, exceptional customer service, and
financial accountability. The General Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the city,
contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and contractual
obligations.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Operations Management
- Oversee the operation of parking garages, surface lots, and on-street parking programs. Ensure parking facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Implement and monitor effective operational procedures to maximize efficiency. Manage enforcement practices to ensure compliance with city regulations.
2. Financial Oversight
Prepare and manage annual budgets, financial reports, and revenue projections. Monitor and analyze financial performance to ensure revenue growth and cost control.Develop strategies to enhance revenue streams, including special event parking and innovative parking solutions.3. Customer Service
Establish and maintain a customer-focused culture within the team.Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally. Implement programs to improve the customer parking experience.4. Leadership and Team Development
Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including enforcement personnel, maintenance teams, and administrative employees.Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages professional development.Ensure staff adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.5. Technology and Innovation
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of parking management technologies, such as License Plate Recognition (LPR) systems and mobile payment platforms.Evaluate and recommend technology upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.6. Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with city officials, local businesses, and community stakeholders to align parking strategies with Wilmington’s goals.Act as the primary point of contact for the city’s parking program, providing regular updates and performance reviews.7. Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Oversee the development and implementation of risk management strategies to protect assets and reduce liabilities.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in parking operations, facility management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and revenue analysis.Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively.Familiarity with parking management technologies and software.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.Preferred Qualifications :
Certified Parking Professional (CPP) or equivalent industry certification.Experience working with municipal parking programs or government contracts.Knowledge of Wilmington’s community and local parking needs.Work Environment :
This position requires on-site work in various parking facilities, including garages and surface
lots. Some evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required to oversee operations during
special events.
