Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Production Planning Process Improvement Specialist reports to the Production Planning Manager and is responsible for analyzing current production planning processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing effective solutions to enhance operational efficiency. This role focuses on creating and standardizing processes, developing training programs for planning personnel, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to align with organizational goals.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Evaluate current production planning procedures and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Develop and recommend standardized best practices for production planning processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on process changes and improvements.
- Create and provide comprehensive training programs on new processes and tools for production planning personnel.
- Maintain accurate training records for all production planning team members.
- Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions specific to production planning activities.
- Utilize tools like Value Stream Mapping to identify bottlenecks and streamline planning processes.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and presentation of planning metrics and dashboards to measure performance and ensure continuous improvement.
- Support the implementation and adoption of ERP system enhancements as they relate to production planning.
- Conduct root cause analysis for planning discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Act as a liaison between production planning and other departments to resolve scheduling and material availability conflicts.
- Other duties as assigned by TAS Energy.
