The Supportive Services coordinator works independently from the property management staff and reports directly to the Regional Manager of the assigned properties. An annual evaluation will be performed with input from the Regional Manager.
The primary function is to access the general social services needs of the residents living in the assigned facility (ies). Following the needs assessment, this position will arrange for a variety of services to be available to the residents of the facility based on the needs of the general population. The service coordinator will also be available to perform on-site assessments and critical interventions when requested.

Summary of Responsibilities:
- Arrange training sessions between residents and staff regarding proper care for their apartment and the community as a whole
- Identify and qualify residents needing assistance in following through on financial obligations and income/asset building by partnering with local financial counselors and agencies to provide service
- Job Training/Placement: Partner with United Way and county agencies to identify and link residents to available resources that offer needed job training classes on site. Coordinator will conduct job fairs to link residents to companies who are hiring for potential job placement
- Education: Link residents with local schools for continued education or GED classes
- After school/training programs: Partner with local schools and other agencies to set up on-site tutoring programs in the community center Monday through Friday within the hours of 3pm and 7pm during school months and specific hours during summer months
- Mentoring Programs: Partner with local Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Pittsburg to create a mentoring program for children ages 5 -13 living in the community. Develop on-site program that enlists teen volunteers in the community to mentor younger residents
- Affordable Daycare: Identify and qualify residents needing daycare and partner with outside agencies to provide services
- Needs Assessments: conduct surveys to determine the specific needs of various residents on annual basis to connect residents to appropriate programs. Conduct quarterly focus group meetings with residents
- Develop and update a Resources Directory for residents
- Write and prepare grants to fund social service programs as needed at the facility
- Provide quarterly newsletters
- Reporting: Monthly reports to Regional Manager outlining performance objectives and goal achievements. Monthly activity calendars submitted to Regional Compliance Manager. Annual evaluation with input from the Regional Manager
- Annual reporting requirements to PHFA; Compile information and prepare for electronic submission Annual Reports due to PHFA no later than January 31st every year. This Annual Report will be in conjunction with, and at the direction of the Regional Compliance Manager. The Regional Compliance Manager will review all materials prior to Annual Report submission.
