Assistant Controller
We seek a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller with packaging solutions industry experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and other finance professionals to enhance financial processes and contribute to the company's overall success. What You Will Do:
The Global Assistant Controller will offer extensive support to the Controller in all financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, audit, and tax functions.
- Global Financial Reporting and Compliance - Oversee and assist in preparing and consolidating financial statements for multiple entities across different countries, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany accounts to ensure accuracy in consolidating financial results from subsidiaries and joint ventures.
- Assist in preparing global budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring budget variances, and providing analysis to support budgetary decisions.
- Collaborate with tax departments and external advisors to ensure compliance with global tax regulations and support tax planning initiatives and strategies to optimize tax efficiencies.
- Work with senior management to develop and execute global financial strategies and long-term financial plans aligned with business objectives.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, tax authorities, and other stakeholders as needed for financial transactions and reporting.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
What You’ll Need:
- A comprehensive understanding of various packaging solutions used in the industry, including materials, designs, and innovative technologies that enhance product protection and presentation.
- Certified Public Accountant
- 5-7 years of experience as an accountant with a for-profit corporation and/or public accounting firm
- Working knowledge of GAAP accounting and regulatory requirements
- Highly organized with close attention to detail
- Critical thinker and problem solver; looks for ways to improve processes and automate where possible
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Oracle JDE GL system
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Power Bi/ Sisense experience a plus
