Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, assisting in diagnostic and interventional procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of cardiology and radiology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment within a Level II Trauma Center.
Duties
- Prepare patients for catheterization procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs throughout procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic evaluations and interventional cardiology procedures.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment in the cath lab.
- Operate imaging equipment to capture high-quality radiographic images for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate patient conditions and develop care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient records, and equipment usage.
- Stay updated on advancements in cardiology practices and technologies.
Experience
Candidates should possess:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology relevant to cardiology and radiology.
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and understanding of cardiac rhythms.
- Previous experience working in a cath lab or similar clinical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques and equipment used in the cath lab.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
