Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mammographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing mammographic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and evaluation of breast health. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of medical imaging techniques, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, such as a Level II Trauma Center or Emergency Room (ER).
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality mammographic imaging procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and collaborate with radiologists to interpret results.
- Maintain and operate mammography equipment, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Educate patients about the procedure, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
- Assist in the training of new staff and students in mammography techniques and protocols.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technologies, including PET scans and nuclear medicine.
Requirements
- Certification as a Mammography Technologist or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to breast health.
- Experience in medical imaging, particularly in mammography, is preferred.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes and nuclear medicine is advantageous.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a busy healthcare setting such as an ER or Level II Trauma Center.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $49.75 - $52.04 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
