Job Overview
The Mammography Technologist , under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs Breast Imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammographic imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety guidelines and maintaining equipment.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining the procedure and answering any questions.
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while ensuring their comfort.
- Assist in the diagnostic evaluation process by providing accurate imaging results.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, imaging results, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with radiologists to discuss findings and assist in further diagnostic evaluations if necessary.
- Stay updated on advancements in mammography technology and techniques.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Mammography Technologist from an accredited program is required.
- , emergency room settings, or urgent care is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology related to breast anatomy and pathology is essential.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes in both Level I and Level II Trauma Centers is a plus.
- Proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and performing PET scans is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
