Responsibilities

- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications, chemotherapy, and other treatments as prescribed while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options, side effects, and coping strategies.
- Conduct triage assessments to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Maintain accurate medical records using Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems.
- Participate in case management activities, coordinating care across various settings including long-term care facilities and hospice palliative medicine environments.
- Engage in continuous professional development through participation in training programs and teaching hospital initiatives.
- Assist in sterile processing procedures as needed to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with relevant oncology nursing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with internal medicine practices is beneficial for comprehensive patient care.
- Experience in triage, case management, or long-term care settings is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dermal fillers is a plus for those interested in expanding their skill set within the oncology field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on treatment plans and health maintenance strategies.
