As a key member of the finance team, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving process improvements to support Pixalate’s growth. The ideal candidate has a strong background in SaaS or digital advertising, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about scaling financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of global accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Manage tax compliance, including sales tax, income tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with external teams, auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
- Implement and optimize financial systems and automation tools to improve efficiency.
- Partner with FP&A to provide insights into financial performance and business strategy.
- Support fundraising, due diligence, and investor reporting efforts.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
- Experience in SaaS, digital advertising, or technology industries preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar ERP systems).
- Previous experience with a Series A/B stage business.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities.
