The Road Freight Support Specialist is the primary customer and vendor contact for all operational inquiries. He / She coordinates domestic product shipments ensuring that service commitments are achieved in accordance with standard service, client requirements and company objectives. Communicates effectively and professionally with customers, vendors, internal stakeholders and government agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Monitor & Manage AP / AR process for all road vendors across US
  • Plans for and utilizes most optimum vendors based on product needs
  • Ensures clients, Hellmann partners or other required parties are kept fully informed of transport arrangements and status on a regular basis.
  • Manage and monitor Hellmann Vetting program
  • Communicates as required with applicable parties to ensure service requirements are achieved.
  • Serves as liaison with product personnel to ensure quality services are achieved & maintained.
  • Negotiates most favorable buying rates with approved vendors.
  • Processes, issues, distributes, and / or dispatches all required documentation to all applicable parties in a time frame consistent with service needs & company policy
  • Create and facilitate trainings
  • Support in Management of all domestic & ground transportation systems / TMS.
  • Monitor and update vendor information in required systems
  • Support tender process of RFQ with vendors
  • Issues reports as required.
  • Issues shipping instructions to Hellmann partners where necessary.
  • Receives rate tariffs and upload and / or make available to operating system and products
  • Provides advice to clients concerning, but not limited to; terms of delivery and payment, transport alternatives or other matters affecting client needs.
  • Keeps products informed and maintains knowledge of market trends and changes in service options.
  • Meet vendors & branches regularly to monitor their satisfaction level & performance
  • Support in growth of Domestic and first / final mile of international business
  • Prepare and share reporting to management related to Road Freight
  • Ensures accurate distribution of costs to promote same in projected gross profits.
  • Monitor & Manage timely approval and accuracy of vendor invoices.
  • Harmonizes and implements department procedures to maximize productivity.
  • Trains new and existing staff.
  • Handles internal and external disputes.
  • Ensures maximum file profitability via control of vendor costs and maximum profits for product
  • Ensures timely invoicing of files within department as per company guidelines.
  • Monitors and takes necessary corrective action to Manage Road freight processes & procedures with all branches
  • Provides leadership and guidance to department staff related to Road freight
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement
  • Minimum 5 years in the industry
  • Able to route, NFO, over-night, 2day Air and expedited ground shipments
  • Administration of LTL (Less than Truck load) operations
  • Completion of any industry related course is an asset.
  • Northern and Southern Cross Border operations experience preferred

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts, and other percentages
  • Analytical skills / problem-solving ability
  • Coaching skills – able to train, coach, and develop subordinates
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently required to stand, and walk
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods
  • Regularly uses arms to reach, hands and fingers for computer and phone use
  • Speaking clearly and listening for heavy phone contact
  • Requires close-up and computer screen distance vision ability

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment characteristics are similar of those of an office setting with various office equipment.

    Salary Range : $28.85.0000 To $38.47.0000 Hourly
