The position

We're looking for a seasoned, full-time Senior Project Manager with technical experience who can contribute their management and leadership experience directly with project teams and collaborate with their colleagues on the PM team to elevate and refine PM practices company-wide.

We need an inspirational and confident project manager who can think strategically about typical project management challenges, while also diving into complex software project scopes. You should have a track record of using your knowledge and experience to manage and communicate effectively across client and project teams. We're looking for strong leadership skills and a technical background to help dig into the nitty-gritty details of project challenges when they arise.

In this role, you'll manage multiple projects using a mix of agile and waterfall methodologies, working closely with our team of designers, content strategists, and engineers. Your experience and skills will help ensure that strong relationships are fostered with our clients, and team members feel comfortable openly communicating about the project throughout its timeline.

In this role, you will...

Keep the pulse of your projects.

Understand each project well enough to prioritize work, recognize and anticipate problems, and articulate project details to clients.

Run project stand-ups with your teams to prioritize & identify work, facilitate team retrospectives, and lead client meetings to keep them apprised of progress.

Create and manage project documents such as timelines, budgets, requirements, and re-estimations.

Work closely with your team to create quarterly business review documents.

Communicate and hold teams accountable.

Capture important details throughout projects and communicate necessary information to project teams, clients, and Pixo leadership.

Manage outstanding items for both internal and client teams.

Identify and remove roadblocks for teams by coordinating between departments and between internal & client teams.

Own and update project status reports and requirements documentation.

Identify, schedule, and lead project meetings.

Participate in department-level meetings to provide project updates and identify resourcing needs.

Keep internal teams and clients accountable to responsibilities and deadlines.

Think strategically and problem-solve.

Make clients aware of risks, blockers, schedules, and budgets and collaborate with them to identify solutions.

Understand the potential timeline and budget implications of technical issues flagged by your team and help to shape next steps.

Be an advocate for the client, including reminding the team of the client's "why" when making major decisions and prioritization.

Maintain project backlogs to allow teams to pivot to alternate work when they become blocked on a project or task.

You must be able to :

Plan, prioritize, and manage deliverables for multiple projects with parallel timelines.

Be comfortable utilizing waterfall, agile, and scrum methodologies.

Understand how to identify and raise flags about project risks.

Discuss and explain project details with both technical and non-technical clients.

Manage budgets and identify when they are at risk.

Provide strong leadership skills and thrive as a vocal and engaged member of a team.

Communicate exceptionally well when writing and speaking.

Understand the shape of a typical software project cycle, using your past experience to make knowledgeable decisions and recommendations.

Remain confident during conflict and be able to construct and propose rational solutions.

Show genuine and proactive interest in design and technology.

Bonus points if you have :

CAPM, PMP, Agile / Scrum or equivalent certifications or training

5 years of experience in a digital agency

Experience using Jira

Location

Like all of the Pixo team, this job is remote, work-from-home. You do have the option of working in our Urbana office as desired if you're local to Champaign-Urbana (but it's not required!).

Salary range :

92,000 - $102,000, depending on experience
