Special Events Host Responsibilities:
- Show potential event hosts the event space and answer any questions regarding food and alcohol packages, pricing and special requests
- Assist with coordinating marketing and social media announcements for in-house events
- When available, assist with set up of the buffet & event areas. Ensure all small wares, chafing dishes and serving vessels are kept clean and in excellent working condition
- Monitor and observe guests party experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
- Handle all essential host duties such as: Warmly greeting all guests upon arrival, open the front door for guests entering and leaving the restaurant, and thanking guests as they leave and invite them to return.
- When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in the party and provide guests with estimated waiting times. Contact waiting guests when tables become available.
- Seat guests based on guest preferences whenever possible and consider the balancing of customer flow in the service stations.
- Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect the table for proper presentation and complete cleanliness.
- Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized hostess station.
- Ensure the front of restaurant (entrance hallway / doors) are clear of trash, swept and windows are clean.
- Check bathrooms for cleanliness and paper supplies every two hours during the day and every hour from 5:00 pm – close.
Special Events Host Qualifications:
- A positive, can-do attitude and strong organizational abilities
- Afternoon and evening availability required.
- Some event coordinating experience preferred.
- Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Must dress nicely and maintain a clean, neat appearance.
