What are the responsibilities and job description for the API Inspector 2 position at PK Companies Group?
PK Technology is looking for API Inspectors, a local person in each of the following locations:
- Denver, Colorado
- Gillette, Wyoming
What does an API Inspector do? The API inspector for PK Technology will perform external and internal visual inspection of piping and equipment in local chemical, oil, and gas facilities. This will require the ability to read P&ID’s, isometric drawings, and to update as necessary. If you have a dual certification in both API 570 and 510, this is beneficial and makes you more versatile for future projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns.
- Perform external and internal visual inspections on piping circuits and equipment.
- Detail oriented and capable of reading and interpreting P&ID and isometric drawings of piping circuits and equipment and making changes to the drawings as necessary.
- Knowledge of the RBMI asset integrity software system. Proficiency in Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, etc.) and efficient use of iPad-based technology.
- Capable of climbing, working at high elevations and working in confined spaces.
- Identify circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
- Properly use and complete customer and company job related forms and paperwork, including JSA’s.
- Communicate and deal with customers and other parties in such a manner as to benefit the professional reputation of the company. This communication is in person at the asset level and in the office setting.
- Learn and follow Company policies and procedures.
- Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines.
- Learn Company products and services that are available to our customers.
- Complete all customer and company job-related forms and paperwork in a timely manner.
JOB STANDARDS
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred.
- Able to follow precise directions and procedures of the supervisor on the project.
- Must possess current certification as an API inspector, and preferably certified in multiple disciplines (Example 510, 570, 653).
- Must be able to complete all necessary requirements to safely perform work in a variety of industrial, offshore, refinery type settings.
- Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Field duties require outdoor work in chemical, oil, gas, and offshore facilities.
- Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
- Working in areas around process equipment with extreme noise levels.
- Wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- Must be able to tolerate climate changes.
- Must be able to travel and work in a remote location for a minimum of 21 consecutive days at a time.
