What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advisory - Cyber Security Intern position at PKF O'Connor Davies?
Overview
The Cyber Security Intern will be a member of PKF O’Connor Davies’ Cybersecurity and Privacy practice. This full time paid 8-week summer internship program starts mid-June and goes until mid-August. This position is designed for self-motivated individuals with an insatiable appetite to learn and a strong desire to pursue a career in cyber security and privacy. This internship program will assist in further developing professional skills in the field of Cybersecurity, Privacy, Information Security, and Governance. This position will have the opportunity to better understand the different facets of an effective Cyber Security and Privacy Program and gain practical experience as you work alongside information security thought leaders. You will be assigned multiple mentors to shadow as you work on various assignments.
Essential Duties
- Assist in client engagements.
- Assist with research in new products or processes.
- Assist with the creation of run books and documentation.
- Support the team in cyber security, risk assessments and report writing.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an undergraduate and/or graduate degree program in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Management of Information Systems.
- Common body of knowledge: some upper-level course work on information security, some knowledge and academic/work experience on logical security domains.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational abilities.
- Ability to work as a contributing member of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
- Creative and persistent problem solver.
- Able to handle confidential material in a reliable manner.
- Ability to code or experience with security tools is a plus.
