We are seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Services Tax Manager or Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tax planning, review and for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients in the financial services industry, including hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, management companies and high-net-worth individuals. This role requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective tax strategies.
Essential Duties
The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 - $150,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.

Essential Duties
- Interact closely with clients to provide advanced tax planning, consulting and compliance expertise.
- Review returns prepared by tax associates and seniors.
- Oversee and manage all tax reporting and compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax laws.
- Analyze and review financial data to identify tax savings and minimization opportunities.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations, keeping abreast of changes and developments.
- Provide guidance and support to tax staff and assist in their professional development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, clients, and industry professionals.
- Actively participate in professional organizations, industry events, and networking groups to enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation.
- Set clear goals and expectations for the tax team, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Participate in relevant training programs, seminars, and workshops to enhance tax knowledge and skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.
- MST degree a plus.
- Active CPA license or EA designation required.
- 7 years of progressive financial services tax experience required.
- Experience working with asset management clients – e.g., hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, management companies and high-net-worth individuals required.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor the tax team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
