Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher Job Summary
We are seeking an engaging professional passionate about early education to join our school as an Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher. In this position, you will assist the lead classroom teacher with activities and learning exercises, maintaining a friendly, inclusive atmosphere for all students. Depending on needs and class sizes, you may work with small groups of students on separate activities. You will also help maintain student records of behavior and progress, keeping parents up-to-date on their child's development and learning.
Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with activities, feeding, diapering, and instruction
- Maintain records of student progress and needs
- Help keep learning areas clean, sanitized, and safe
- Provide a welcoming, inclusive learning atmosphere for all students
- Support children with special or individual needs
- Foster positive social and emotional development through nurturing interactions
- Encourage curiosity and exploration in a safe environment
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and development
- Implement age-appropriate activities to stimulate cognitive, emotional, and physical growth
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care and learning
Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed educational environment
- A passion for early childhood education and helping children grow in positive ways
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid food handling permit
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Patience and empathy for young children
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic classroom environment
- Knowledge of child development milestones and best practices for early childhood education
