Summary:
PKL Services Inc. is contracted to maintain and operate Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-15SG and United States Air Force (USAF) F-15E aircraft and equipment assigned to the 366th Fighter Wing located at Mountain Home AFB (MHAFB), Idaho. PKL employees at this site are subject to a Union/Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) regarding employment terms and work rules. Health and Welfare Compensation Benefit.
The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector is responsible for monitoring all aspects of quality assurance for aircraft and equipment maintenance.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct aircraft, component, engine, support/test equipment, and maintenance personnel inspections and evaluations IAW DAFI 21-101 and local directives. The contractor shall assess maintenance training effectiveness and unit compliance with technical and procedure directives and identify trends that inhibit mission accomplishment.
2. Observe, correct, and document applicable activities performed within the maintenance complex. Conduct such evaluations of maintenance task and programs impartially and objectively.
3. Assist 366th MXG/MXQP in managing technical orders, TO improvements, TCTOs, Special Technical Instructions (STI), Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs), and product deficiency reporting, as well as aggressively participating in product improvement working groups to increase equipment reliability.
4. Responsible for ensuring quality aircraft maintenance has been performed with the use of proper technical data.
5. Use and be familiar with the Maintenance Standardization and Evaluation Program (MSEP) for guidance on numbers and types of inspections.
6. Record inspections performed in Logistics Evaluation Assurance Program (LEAP) database.
7. Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel who are required to make QA decisions.
8. Conduct final inspections upon completion of Key Task List (KTL) items requiring certification by QA.
9. Perform aircraft Weight and Balance calculations and certifications, as required.
10. Any and all other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Site Manager.
Required educational/skills background:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be authorized to work in the United States (U.S.).
3. Qualified/certified 7-level Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience or equivalent.
4. Minimum of two (2) years Quality Assurance experience.
5. Prior F-15E or equivalent MDS experience highly desired.
6. Experience handling explosive items or prior explosive safety training.
7. Well-rounded maintenance background in Air Force Maintenance Programs.
8. Ability to research, read and interpret drawings, technical manuals, and directives.
9. Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.
Physical Demands:
This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions, including the F-15 cockpit. Normal color/depth perception and no record of emotional instability are required.
Work Environment (ADA):
May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar/ flight line that may be noisy at times. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing thru a hazardous area.
