PKS Law Group, P.C. is a leading real estate law firm representing some of the largest property management companies and owners in various real estate litigation matters throughout California. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paralegal to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our trial department in conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and assisting with trial preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research, respond to discovery requests, and prepare legal documents and pleadings.
- Schedule, prepare, and serve motions and oppositions, including motions to compel, ex parte motions, demurrers, motions to quash, and motions to strike.
- Assist trial attorneys with the preparation of trial binders and jury trial documents.
- Perform e-filing, paper filing, and other administrative duties as required by the department.
- Communicate with clients regarding responsive pleadings, hearing dates, and court information.
- Provide backup assistance to other office staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent experience.
- Prior trial and litigation experience is essential.
- Excellent writing skills with a demonstrated ability to draft legal documents.
- Previous administrative office experience in a high-volume environment.
- Professional communication skills via telephone and email.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute; proficient computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of unlawful detainers.
- Familiarity with local county court rules and procedures.
