JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Intern will support the quality control (QC) team in ensuring that products meet the required standards of quality and safety. This role involves assisting with the inspection, testing, and analysis of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. The intern will gain hands-on experience with QC processes, tools, and equipment while contributing to maintaining and improving product quality across various stages of production. The intern will also help document findings, report issues, and assist in the development of quality control procedures and improvement strategies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn about quality assurance processes in a fast-paced manufacturing or laboratory setting.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a degree in a related field (e.g., Quality Control, Engineering, Chemistry, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of quality control tools and testing methods is a plus.
- Good communication and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
- Laboratory Data trending and tracking
- Assist with filing needs
- General lab housekeeping
- Paperwork and logbook Review
- Lab inventory
- Sample disposal
- Send samples out for testing, including preparing shipments and creating labels
- Manage tracking of all shipments and share tracking via email as needed
- Assist with filing
- Sample submission online for third party testing laboratories
- General lab housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May be required to stand or walk for extended periods while conducting inspections, performing tests, or working with laboratory equipment.
- The role may involve lifting or moving materials or samples up to 25-30 lbs, such as containers, equipment, or samples, as needed for testing or preparation.
- Ability to handle lab equipment, tools, and instruments with precision, as well as perform tasks that require fine motor skills (e.g., preparing samples, operating testing machinery, or filling containers).
- Strong eyesight or use of corrective lenses is required for inspecting samples, reading test results, or observing lab processes accurately.
- Must be able to work safely around chemicals, reagents, and other potentially hazardous materials, using appropriate protective equipment (e.g., gloves, goggles, lab coats).
- Ability to hear verbal instructions, safety alerts, or potential hazards in a lab setting.
- Must be able to focus on repetitive tasks and tests while maintaining attention to detail to ensure accurate data and results.
- Must be able to follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or exposure to hazardous materials, which includes wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses.
