PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.
SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for operating forklifts and other equipment to move materials according to work orders. Duties include delivering supplies to various departments, ensuring the accuracy of materials pulled from inventory, loading and unloading freight trucks, and maintaining warehouse order and cleanliness.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and 3-5 years of warehouse work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of warehouse practices and procedures.
- Basic mathematical computation and application skills.
- Experience following warehouse and equipment safety rules and regulations.
- Computer hardware and software application skills required.
- Experience with JD Edwards operating system or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Experience with multiple types of material handling equipment.
- Prior experience with pharmaceutical material handling or equivalent industry.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal or written.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
- Experience providing excellent customer service with both internal and external customers.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must have a clean driver’s license and be capable of driving a box truck (CDL not required).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
- Operate hand-lift or power fork lift, or by other methods, move material according to work order and material transfer sheets.
- Deliver supplies to manufacturing, packaging and other departments as needed.
- Verify and ensure that materials pulled from inventory that supply other departments are accurate. Compare work orders to material transfer sheets.
- Ensure that material transfer activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Load and unload freight trucks.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the warehouse.
- Stack and store materials in designated areas.
- Train and coach other material warehouse personnel.
- Conduct physical inventory as required.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, stooping and crouching, climbing, twisting of upper body and neck, vision to monitor, lifting of equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Contact with electrical equipment such as forklifts on a daily basis. Must be able to withstand heights of 30 feet while traveling in a swing reach forklift. Contact with fluctuation changes in temperature several times a month.
