Assistant Project Manager (APM) – Concrete Division
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a vital role in supporting Project Managers to ensure the successful execution of all project needs. This role focuses on administrative tasks, document management, and effective communication between field and office teams while occasionally managing small projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordination:
- Act as a liaison between Project Managers and field teams, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Facilitate collaboration between all stakeholders to maintain project alignment.
Document Control:
- Add and maintain Change Orders (COs) in project folders.
- Manage and organize mix designs and other essential project documentation.
- Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with audit requirements.
Project Tracking:
- Assist in monitoring project progress and promptly report any discrepancies or potential delays.
- Support PMs in keeping project schedules and budgets on track.
General Support:
- Provide administrative assistance to Project Managers, ensuring smooth execution of project tasks.
- Maintain organized records for all projects, ensuring easy access for team members.
- Occasionally take ownership of small projects from initiation to close-out.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with document management systems is a plus.
What You Bring:
- Good communication, effective communication with clients, subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Solid computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power-Point).
- Ability to modify PDFs.
- Ability to develop Excel formulas, V-Lookups and creating pivot tables.
- Solid organizational skills.
- 2-3 years of construction experience or education in the construction industry.
- Fast learner, in a fast-paced environment.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%.
