Place Services, Inc. has an exciting and immediate need for a Chief People Officer (CPO) to join the C-Suite in our Canton, GA (Atlanta) headquarters location.
The CPO will be instrumental in further bolstering our successes with best practices in several key areas. They will be integral to aligning human resources strategies with business goals while addressing the unique challenges posed by a rapidly growing company and industry.
Through the collective efforts of many, our organization has had record-breaking revenue growth year over year. With revenues at over $450M today, our goal is to reach $1B by 2030. The individual selected will have a direct and positive impact on us achieving that monetary achievement.

What You’ll Do :
This critical and dynamic leadership role will encompass many duties as a thought and strategic people leader of our growing organization. A partial list of responsibilities includes and is not limited to the following :
Leadership and Culture Development
- Responsible for the further development to the organizational culture in alignment with One PSI.
- Lead the organization through periods of change whether driven by growth, mergers or other by implementing clear strategies to minimize challenges to operations or project timelines.
Talent Acquisition and Strategy
Recruiting Excellence – Create interview training methods and measure retention per leader, division and role with actions for continuous improvement.Develop TA Plans - Ensure the company attracts, recruits, and retains top-tier talent to meet both office based and site based operational goals.Address specific challenges in recruiting and retaining skilled tradespeople, project managers, superintendents and others.Learning and Development
Design developmental programs for employees across divisions from site based trade professionals to office-based managers alike ensuring compliance with industry best practices.Establish succession planning for key positions, including field supervisors and project managers ensuring business continuity.Labor Law, Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with wage laws and regulations tied to government-funded construction projects, particularly in federally regulated projects.Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with regulations such as the Davis-Bacon Act, ensuring fair wages and legal alignment on all applicable projects.Employer Brand and Industry Reputation
Develop initiatives to strengthen the company’s brand as an employer of choice, particularly for skilled tradespeople, engineers, and project managers.Forge relationships with trade schools, vocational programs, and industry organizations to build a strong talent pipeline and reputation in the industry.HR Policy Governance, Development and Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive set of HR policies that address the unique needs of a large, geographically dispersed workforce, balancing the needs of both office-based employees and field-based workers.Establish a formal process for regularly reviewing and updating HR policies to ensure they remain compliant with changing laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly those related to construction, safety, and labor.Ensure all HR policies are aligned with the company’s overall business goals, supporting project timelines, workforce availability, and safety standards, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Implement processes for monitoring compliance with HR policies, ensuring all employees, including subcontractors and temporary staff, adhere to the company’s standards. Develop a reporting mechanism that allows employees to raise concerns or violations of policies confidentially and safely.Who You Are :

5-7 years in an executive or C-suite environment.At least 4 years of leadership experience in construction (preferred), finance, or operations.10-15 years of experience in employee leadership or human resources, with 5 years in a leadership role managing HR.Proven ability to thrive in ambiguity, be creative, inspire others, mentor and develop teams, own projects from end to end, say please and thank you, respect others, and innovate regularly, always looking to solve challenges and find the best answers.A track record of developing and executing people strategies that drive business success.Strong communication, influencing, and coaching skills, with the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics.Exceptional business acumen and the ability to align people strategies with business outcomes.Expertise in using data and analytics to drive large-scale organizational initiatives.Ability to travel as needed.Strong understanding of the commercial construction industry, including labor management, compliance, and safety standards.Experience managing a mix of office and field-based employee populations.This is a multifaceted position within the Senior Leadership Team and encompasses traditional HR functions and addresses the specific needs of a dynamic project based workforce. The CPO is tasked with not only fostering a strong company culture but also ensuring compliance with labor laws, maintaining workforce safety, and managing relationships across the office and field environments.
