QUALIFICATIONS:
A credential authorizing services as a California School Administrator is preferred.
Minimum of five years of supervisory, administrative or comparable experience is required.
A strong background in all phases of secondary education is preferred.
A Master's or advanced degree is required. A Doctoral degree is preferred.
Must provide proof of CA Class C driver's license.
Incomplete application packets will be excluded from the screening process.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
The Board will screen using the pre-described criteria during the screening, interviewing and final decision making process. The Board will select and interview the top candidates. A Superintendent Selection Advisory Committee will interview the candidates and report to the Board the strengths and weaknesses of each finalist. The Board will then interview all candidates and make a selection. The Board will take every measure possible to maintain confidentiality during this selection process. Any candidate who contacts a board member will be disqualified. Travel expenses will be the responsibility of the candidate.

The following criteria represent standards to be used in the valuation of candidates and in the selection of the Superintendent.
Personal Skills:
Highest moral, professional and ethical behavior.
Inclusive decision making skills that involve all stakeholders that motivates and supports a working environment where employees are comfortable to take risks.
Strong leader with both effective listening abilities and confident public speaking skills.
Efficient, with excellent organization, time management and follow-through skills.
Ability to assess situations and act with professionalism and common sense.
Professional Skills:
Ability to develop and implement a vision/direction for the District.
Ability to promote academic standards and possessing a track record of producing measurable student achievement gains.
Knowledge of characteristics of effective schools.
Experience in managing district funds and knowledge of Special Education Programs and technology.
