The Mental Health Awareness Training Specialist position offers…

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community organizations, providing mental health awareness trainings and resources.
  • Offer technical assistance and training resources to enhance mental health awareness.
  • Coordinate planning, implementation, and evaluation of the mental health awareness training grant.
  • Prepare and submit monthly referral reports and Mental Health First Aid Updates.
  • Participate in conferences, internal in-services, and national mental health conferences.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, public health, education, psychology, community development, public administration, or a closely related field, with at least one year of professional experience in a social service agency.
  • Or, graduate from an accredited college with an Associate’s Degree in education, public health, psychology, community development, public administration, or a closely related field, with at least two years of professional experience in a social service agency.

Required License/Certification:
  • Obtain Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid instructor certifications within four months of hire.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Successful completion of background check, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check.
  • Provide evidence of being free from infectious diseases prior to beginning employment and annually thereafter.
