Position Summary : The Product Applications Engineer plays a key role of being the liaison between the customer / prospects technical team, the Placon Engineering organization, and the Placon Sales team
Essential Accountabilities
- Commercial Technical Leadership
Establish key relationships with technical buyer / influencers. Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers have Placon product development process works
For specific area of responsibility, assemble, commission and lead cross functional project teams.
management of project timeline.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, 7 - 10 years experience in a combination of package engineering and / or product design and account management in the packaging industry.
Desired Skills
Experience in manufacturing environment
Knowledge of product design principles and methods
Ability to lead cross-functional teams
Experience with thermoformed products
Experience in presenting capabilities in front of key customers
Position Requirements
Financial and business experience in the areas of cost accounting and product costing
Experience with project management or related processes
Ability to effectively communication and interact effectively with customers and internal project teams.
Work Environment Conditions :
Inside (office) - normal office environment
Inside (other) - will require frequent, daily interaction with product design, tool design, sample lab and all aspects of production.
Outside (non-hazardous) - frequent customer interface at their manufacturing and office environments.
Equipment / Tools Used : (office equipment , machinery, tools, software, etc.)
Personal Computer, fax, phone, copy machine, MS Office, Oracle, also , light manufacturing equipment, i.e., Sealing fixtures, machinery.
Physical Requirements :
Normal Office - frequently
Light Work (lift 10 lbs) : - frequently - product samples
Medium Work (lift 11-30 lbs) : - 3 - 5 times per week - product samples
