- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet District expectations and align to WIDA and Common Core standards in all subject areas including but not limited to Illinois Spanish Language Arts Standards and English Language Development.
- Schedule, plan, and instruct students using the district curriculum.
- Willingness to learn strategies for teaching English Learners.
- Modify, adapt, and implement lessons and curriculum to meet individual student's linguistic development stages and needs.
- Deliver lessons and conduct class using developmentally appropriate instructional and social language that is in alignment with the level of English and Spanish language development and linguistic background of the students.
- Conduct screenings to determine student eligibility for English Learner services and programs.
- Conduct and interpret formal and informal assessments to evaluate student progress, maintain records of student work, and develop intervention strategies to ensure student success and growth.
- Meet regularly and work collaboratively with staff to lesson plan and assess individual student progress.
- Establish a healthy and safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment.
- Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior by applying positive behavior supports and interventions as needed.
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that is respectful of students' cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Communicate both verbally and in writing with parents and students on progress.
- Participate in staff development and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth.
- Consult with staff on issues related to EL curriculum, assessments, programming, and/or best instructional methods for ELs.
- Attend and participate in problem solving meetings to facilitate early involvement and provide input of academic or behavior concerns.
- Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses, conferences, or extra-curricular activities.

- Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements registered in Will County/Region 56
