Description :
Open to advanced standing students enrolled in an accredited university program
Commitment is for a full academic school year, with a minimum of 3 days per week.
Grade level varies from early childhood through high school.
Under the direct supervision of a Licensed School Psychologist.
Internship experiences will include the following :
- Selecting appropriate assessment instruments
- Conducting assessments
- Interpreting assessment information accurately
- Screening / referral / evaluation process
- Reporting assessment data in a clear and concise manner
- Collaborating with school staff to design Individualized Educational Programs
- Managing and coordinating required paperwork
- Participating in building level MTSS activities
- Conducting classroom observations
- Providing consultation and training to staff and parents as needed
- Demonstrating an understanding of individual and group counseling techniques as applicable
- Opportunities are available at all grade levels (early childhood through high school)
- Candidates must pass the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP) test through the State of Illinois or qualify for the exemption ACT / SAT scores prior to beginning in the position
