Job Purpose/Summary:
The GIS Analyst supports the Plains Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the operation of Desktop, Web, Server & Mobile GIS applications. This role will work toward maintaining accurate pipeline asset data for use in safety compliance and effective decision-making for the organization.
The day-to-day work of the GIS Analyst involves using a variety of applications, protocols and workflows to process, load, and maintain pipeline assets, integrity, and performance data (pipeline data) to PODS and ArcSDE.

Job Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain in-house and 3rd-party data acquired from public data sources and industry data vendors.
- Use ArcGIS Desktop and Web GIS for map production, data manipulation, report generation, and spatial analytics.
- Support GIS Field Operations including Incident Response and Data Collection.
- Assist the GIS team in developing data specifications governing collection, quality control, display/provisioning, and maintenance.
- Prepare various diagrams, charts, maps, dashboards, and presentation content upon request.
- Generate and maintain GIS data/application workflows and process documentation.
- Acquire, validate, and load asset data sourced from legacy as-built surveys, field surveys, and other sources.
- Assist with the testing of new or updated GIS software and tools for ability to fit documented workflows and user needs.
- Author & Publish Enterprise Spatial Data Services in ArcGIS Online & Portal
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Engineering, or other technical discipline with 2 years of experience as a GIS or data analyst or equal.
- Solid understanding of, and experience with spatial and relational data. Understanding of common spatial data structures, formats, and terminology - specifically as they relate to the ESRI platform.
- Possess a working knowledge of projections and coordinate systems.
- Understanding of basic SQL and enterprise RDBMS systems.
- Configuration and deployment of Mobile/in-field data capture In Survey123 and Field Maps
- Web application configuration in ArcGIS Experience Builder, dashboards, & Instant apps
- Knowledge of field maintenance operations, pipeline construction, and pipeline integrity activities.
- Proven organizational and time management skills
- Able to work independently with limited supervision and within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong analytical background.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
- Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
