Position Overview:
Plainwell Community Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated K-8 English Learner (EL) Teacher
to provide targeted EL intervention support across our elementary and middle school levels. This role
will support our K-8 EL program goals by ensuring all EL students receive the instruction and
assistance needed to succeed academically and linguistically.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver EL instruction and intervention support for students in our elementary and middle schools, aligning with the district’s K-12 program goals.
· Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to develop individualized instructional plans and strategies for EL students.
· Utilize best practices and research-based instructional models, such as SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol), to effectively engage EL students in learning.
· Conduct WIDA screeners and WIDA assessments for K-8 students to assess English language proficiency levels and monitor progress.
· Monitor student progress and provide data-driven instruction that supports language acquisition and academic success.
· Participate in professional development and collaborate with colleagues to ensure program fidelity and effectiveness.
· Communicate regularly with families of EL students to foster a supportive learning environment and address individual student needs.
Qualifications:
· Valid Michigan Elementary (ZG) teaching endorsement required.
· NS Endorsement or training and experience in English Learner instruction, with knowledge of instructional models such as SIOP required.
· Proven ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community members.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Commitment to the success of all students and the district’s goals for equity and excellence in education.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,093.00 - $75,990.00 per year
