Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. The Capture Lead Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the Business Development (BD)/Capture Manager throughout the capture and proposal processes. This position involves managing and coordinating all capture activities for assigned opportunities, from initial opportunity qualification to proposal submission. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse capture team, performing in-depth analysis, leading solution development, and supporting pre-proposal planning to increase the likelihood of a successful win.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Capture Management:
- Lead all capture functions for a specific opportunity, ensuring overall success and alignment with company objectives.
- Oversee completion of capture activities and action items for the team.
- Build and coordinate the capture team, ensuring resources are aligned and buy-in is secured from key decision-makers.
- Conduct and lead all capture gate reviews, ensuring each stage of the capture process is followed with accuracy and effectiveness.
- Participate in gate reviews and provide ongoing leadership throughout the Business Development lifecycle.
- Intelligence and Analysis
- Direct intelligence gathering and research, ensuring the team is equipped with accurate, actionable insights.
- Source competitive information and collaborate with team members, including opportunity owners, operations staff, executives, pricing, and finance.
- Perform SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, developing preliminary win themes for each opportunity.
- Engage with relevant external stakeholders and organizations as needed.
- Manage and influence government stakeholders as appropriate.
- Solutioning:
- Lead solutioning efforts by developing key management and technical approaches based on quality intelligence and analysis.
- Collaborate with the BD team and operations staff to develop a winning solution for each opportunity.
- Support staffing efforts by identifying candidates and key personnel required for the project.
- Build and lead a winning team, consisting of subcontractors or other teaming partners as necessary.
- Translate SWOT analysis into compelling and compliant win themes and overall strategies.
- Collaborate with the Cost & Price Manager to develop competitive pricing strategies that align with the price-to-win approach.
- Pre-Proposal Planning:
- Develop executive summaries and ensure win themes and strategies are aligned with the customer’s needs and pain points.
- Gather technical and management content, identifying corresponding past performance and relevant corporate experience.
- Develop proposal templates and resources such as kickoff documents, SharePoint sites, resume templates, etc.
- Ensure buy-in from key proposal resources and prepare resource matrices in advance of proposals to ensure readiness.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field of study.
- 5 years of experience in business development, capture planning, and proposal management.
- Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting, contract types/vehicles, and procurement processes.
- Strong leadership abilities to organize and execute capture activities, including team building, customer engagement, and win strategy execution.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including presentations and proposal writing.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to assess opportunities, identify key issues, and create data-driven solutions.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Adobe Pro.
- Excellent facilitation and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
- Demonstrated capacity to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
