Site Inspector (Kosrae)

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a highly qualified Site Inspector to provide independent Supervision and Administration (S&A) for the awarded Kosrae Hospital construction project. This role requires on-site presence for the project's entire duration, ensuring the construction aligns with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.

Location: On-site at Kosrae State, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM)

Project: Kosrae Hospital Construction Project

Duration: Approximately 30 months

Key responsibilities:

• Provide independent supervision of all construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, timelines, and safety standards. 
• Monitor and document the work progress, ensuring adherence to architectural and engineering plans. 
• Inspect construction materials, methods, and workmanship for compliance with contractual specifications and applicable codes. 
• Identify and address quality issues, working closely with contractors to implement corrective actions. 
• Maintain accurate and detailed daily site logs and inspection reports.
• Prepare and submit periodic progress reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate clear communication between project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and the client.
• Ensure that construction practices adhere to all local regulations and environmental standards.
• Oversee health and safety protocols to mitigate risks on-site.
• Identify potential construction issues early and recommend practical solutions.
• Address any discrepancies between design documents and on-site conditions.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience as a Site Inspector or similar role on construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience in hospital or health care constructionis a must
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and engineering construction methods.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Familiarity with the geographical area, local building regulations, and construction practices within Kosrae State and FSM.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in project documentation and reporting.
