The Freight Coordination Supervisor is responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of freight shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. This role involves working closely with carriers, customers, and internal teams to facilitate efficient logistics operations, resolve transportation issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. The Freight Coordination Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a smooth supply chain by managing schedules, tracking shipments, and fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for freight-related inquiries and updates, providing excellent customer service to clients and partners.
- Schedule and coordinate the pickup, transportation, and delivery of freight shipments, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Negotiate rates and services with carriers and third-party logistics providers to optimize costs and maintain service quality.
- Track and monitor shipments from origin to destination, addressing delays, issues, or discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all shipments, including invoices, bills of lading, and tracking details.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
- Proactively identify potential transportation challenges and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service and operations, to meet client expectations and operational goals.
- Update and manage logistics systems with current shipment information, ensuring data accuracy.
- Prepare reports on freight activities, costs, and performance metrics for management review.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight coordination, logistics, or a similar role

- Competitive Pay: $55,000 - $65,000/year

Conditions:
- Full-time position.
- Generally, Monday through Friday, first shift. Occasional overtime as necessary, including nights and/or weekends.
- Frequent exposure to sunlight, dust and dirt, grease, exhaust and/or fuel fume odors.
- Must be able to handle a demanding, fast-paced work environment.
- Bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Varying inside and outside weather and temperature conditions.
