What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Ledger Accountant position at PLANET AID INC?
Planet Aid seeks a General Ledger Accountant responsible for managing financial reporting, reconciling accounts, and maintaining daily cash balance accuracy. Key duties include working on month-end close processes, supporting audits, managing NetSuite operations, mentoring staff, and serving as backup for the Controller.
Key Responsabilities:
- Reconcile Planet Aid bank accounts and prepare financial reports for the CFO.
- Produce daily cash balance reports.
- Update and reconcile Planet Aid Thrift Store revenue.
- Reconcile and track Garson and Shaw commission payments.
- Monitor leases and track interest on all Planet Aid property loans.
- Provide backup and support throughout the annual audit as requested; upload information to the auditor’s database; meet with auditors weekly to ensure items are submitted timely and arcuately.
- Manage the NetSuite accounting system suite and update GL accounts, units, and reports.
- Train and mentor current and new staff in the accounting department as directed by the Controller.
- Run month-end close process with NetSuite and associated applications, ensuring timely and accurate reports are provided to management.
- Serve as backup to the Controller as needed.
- Serve as backup to the credit card system, Travel Bank, as needed.
- Manage the Solar system invoicing process and reconcile accounts connected to this activity.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Two-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
- 5 years of similar or related experience in accounting.
- Expert-level computer skills and applications such as Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook.
- Strong business and financial skills, including financial planning, budgeting and financial reporting.
