What are the responsibilities and job description for the Route Manager Assistant position at PLANET AID INC?
The Route Manager Assistant (RMA) assists and reports to the Transportation Manager. The RMA assists in the management of everything that has to do with routing and collection. This position is responsible for updating and handling the Planet Aid database, updating and assigning changes in the routes, and providing critical data Management. The RMA is a seasoned and proven responsible driver who does all jobs assigned by the Manager to help make the collection run smoothly and maximize the pounds.
Pay: Weekly, $26-$27/hr
Requirements:- Run collection routes and pick up overflows as needed.
- The RMA may have a few regular routes assigned weekly, or may just run uncovered routes due to driver calls out.
- Audit drivers and Routes
- Verifying that routes are being run as planned
- Fix bin issues in the field
- Reroute and optimized collection routes and territories
- Ensure that the collection Database is updated accordingly
- Assign daily routes to Drivers
- Assist with truck and vehicle maintenance as needed
- Run reports and provide critical data to Management as needed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- HS Diploma or equivalent years of experience in place of diploma;
- A valid driver's license;
- Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card
- 2 years experience driving small truck
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must hold a valid driver’s license, be able to obtain a DOT medical card and their driving record must meet company insurability standards. Proficient in computer skills and applications such as Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel). Familiarity with database record keeping to record and track information, as well as other online applications such as mapping and routing tools such as Route Savvy. Must be detailed oriented. Self-driven, result-oriented, and motivated to work without constant supervision. Ability to prioritize workflow. Must be flexible in adapting to changing requirements and priorities.
