What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at Planet Dance?
Planet Dance is looking for a receptionist to conduct various administrative and creative duties to join our team. Stationed in the lobby, the receptionist is the first member of Planet Dance that our families and dancers will encounter. This individual should be a warm, welcoming, friendly steward of our space. An ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate excitement and enthusiasm about interacting with the many people who call Planet Dance home. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, a heart for serving others, and a willingness to go above and beyond. This position is part-time with the potential to become full-time by fall 2024. Evening and weekend hours are required.
Founded in 2003, Planet Dance aims to bring community to the dance studio space. Here at Planet Dance, your dancer will not only feel a part of the community but they will build a strong technical foundation, friendships that last a lifetime, and an appreciation for the arts.
Responsibilities include:
· Greeting families and dancers upon arrival and ensuring dancers get to their cars when they leave
· Communicate regularly and warmly with students of all ages and families regarding classes, camps, payments, DanceStudioPro accounts, and other Planet Dance programming
· Oversee and ensure the accuracy of all data entry into DanceStudioPro for classes, camps, and competitive teams
· Answering the phone, returning and relaying messages
· Administer studio communications to families, teachers, and various competitive teams
· Monitor the calendar daily to ensure a smooth transition of classes and that daily duties are complete
· Schedule studio space rentals and private lessons as needed
· Assist with monthly invoicing for tuition, costumes, and competition fees
· Work with marketing to capture and schedule content for social media and monthly newsletters
· Maintain a filing system for employees, bank deposits, and receipts
· Perform weekly cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, and bathrooms
· Keep the front office, teacher room, studios, and common spaces clean and orderly
· Manage inventory of office, bathroom, and cleaning supplies
· Aid with the booking of travel, venues for events, picture day, and recital
· Assist with projects and tasks as requested
Qualifications:
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Proficiency in Google Suite (docs, sheets, forms, etc.) and Dance Studio Pro are a plus
· Attention to detail with excellent time management skills
· Ability to work autonomously and in teams in a fast-paced environment
· Highly organized and creative with a deep enthusiasm for the arts
· High School Degree or GED
· At least two years experience as an office administrator
· Experience in Dance is preferred
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- No weekends
- Weekends as needed
