Job Summary:
The Assistant General Manager is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day club operations, ensuring that all performance and objectives are met in order to provide a “Judgement Free” member experience! You will assist in the hiring, firing, and training process for all club employees and will be accountable for leading the team in a positive, motivating manner with a continuous focus on employee development. You will also be responsible for ensuring financially successful club. This position will regularly direct all front desk personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily Staff Management Duties
- Assist GM in creating staffing schedules with the assurance all shifts are regularly covered.
- Lead by example and maintain consistent accountability for direct reports by training and coaching staff members to provide exceptional customer service.
- Lead a team through systems and operations to achieve common goals.
- Assist in preparation of all HR related forms in a timely manner.
- Work with GM to resolve employee’s issues or concerns in a professional manner.
- Assist GM in disciplinary/termination activities.
- Provide backup support for any employee who is absent.
- Uphold integrity and security of staff files and sensitive company documents at all times.
- Be a brand ambassador by leading a “Judgement Free” lifestyle.
- Responsible to assist GM in the training and development of staff to include providing day to day coaching of all staff.
- Assist GM in pre-screening, hiring, firing, OnBoarding, and recruiting.
Customer Service/Front Desk Activities
- Greet members and guests, provide exceptional customer service in a way that makes the members feel comfortable and welcomed.
- Answer phones in a friendly manner.
- Check members in, give tour and sign up new members, log amenities and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
- Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct beverage or merchandise purchases on the POS system.
- Assist in emergency medical situations.
- Uphold rules and policies in the facility.
Members Accounts
- Utilize POS system to assist new membership cards, changes of address or billing or payment questions.
- Properly submit refund requests.
- Check members into fitness classes daily using DataTrak systems.
- Create new memberships and guest accounts for members.
Club Cleanliness and Maintenance
- Keep front desk area and lobby clean and orderly.
- Regular facility cleaning and upkeep, such as mopping up spills, trash removal, cleaning windows and mirrors and re-racking weights.
- Regular cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
- Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked and clutter free by following a cleaning schedule.
- Accurate completion of daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
- Oversee safety of employees, members and club. Report repairs in a timely manner.
Miscellaneous
- Oversee the ordering of club supplies using a specific budget based on club requirements.
- Track key performance indicators such as guest counts, cancels, info calls.
- Manage marketing efforts by ensuring that staff is aware and trained on all promotions.
- Assist in the completion of recorded info calls inspections.
- Actively participate in growth and development opportunities.
- Successfully partner with team members and senior leadership.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Exceptional leadership, diplomacy and listening skills.
- Current CPR Certification required.
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be available via phone during non-working hours.

- Must be willing to occasionally travel for training and to support other locations.
- Job may require overtime, weekends, evenings and holidays; must be flexible.
Physical Demands:
- Continual standing and walking during shifts
- Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
- Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
- Frequent climbing, balancing, kneeling and crouching during shift. Employee must never put themselves under equipment.
