What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer (Contract) position at Planet Forward?
The GAM M&R EI&C/Mechanical designer is responsible for developing the Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) drawings used to complete infrastructure improvement projects involving the installation or modification of electrical systems, communications systems and process measurement devices at natural gas regulation and associated pipeline facilities. This could include 3D design depending on the disicple. This could also being the single designer on a project for both the mechanical and electrical disciplines. The designer also assists in developing support detail and information documents for various engineering activities and projects as well as supporting material procurement and development of design standards. This is a remote job, but will require onsite walkthroughs as needed. Candidate MUST be local to Jackson or Royal Oak area, no out of state candidates. This is a 6 month contract role with possible opportunities for extension.
Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in design or related field
- Looking for candidates with knowledge in Bentley systems
- Knowledge of Microsotation & Openplant for 3D modeling
- Bentley Connect for the 2D E&IC modeling
- Utility experience preferred
- ProjectWise or related system experience
- Able to take direction and follow instructions
- Utilize standards and apply them to disciplines and design
Education:
- An associate degree in the requisite scientific or technical field.
- Significant years of relevant design experience may be considered in leu of a technical degree.
Salary : $32 - $38
