What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Roadway/Civil Engineer position at Planet Forward?
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of professionals, collaborating with other departments as needed to achieve project, program, and regional objectives.
- Provide senior management oversight and guidance for roadway/civil contracts.
- Identify and pursue roadway project and contract opportunities, including both traditional and alternative delivery methods.
- Oversee and actively participate in the design and review of all phases of roadway plan development for various transportation projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia is required.
- 20 years of civil engineering experience, with significant experience in staff management.
- Proven ability to manage projects and support staff in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Capacity to lead, pursue, and oversee multiple projects and contracts concurrently.
- Strong client management abilities.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong work ethic.
Key Experience:
- Experience in highway design, including roadway geometrics, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, traffic control, signing and pavement marking, utility coordination, and right-of-way acquisition.
- Expertise in construction plan development.
