Job Title: Principal Cost Analyst
This is an approximately 24-month assignment where you will be responsible for key cost management and control functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analysis of cost estimates, including estimate basis and qualifications.
- Review of existing project status as provided by our client and its vendors.
- Monitoring compliance with department requirements and Enterprise Policy and Standards.
- Providing analysis and forecasting of project cost performance.
- Assisting with forecasting project cost impacts.
- Project risk quantification, analysis, and management.
- Updating project cost and risk information in systems and tools.
The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge and experience with various estimating techniques, cost management and control practices, project risk management best practices, review and analysis of contractor and vendor performance, and financial and cost management systems.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 9 years of project controls experience or 11 years in lieu of a degree.
- Graduation from a four-year college or university in business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent.
- Proficiency/expertise with project management/project controls concepts/computer applications/analytics, strong collaborative team member.
- Ability to lead complex assignments.
- Exceptional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters - business, finance, project management, or equivalent.
- PMI or AACE certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP).
- Demonstrated expertise in using software such as MS Project/MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, Access, Powerplant, Maximo or EAM, PeopleSoft. Risk management tools / Monte Carlo analysis.
- Expert user of Excel.
- Prior utility experience.
